Hi Dirk, thanks for the pull request and sorry for the late response. I've merged these changes! I'm also looking into #45 but will merge and release that separately because I'm combining several big changes for a major version bump 😇. |

While working on #45 I notices a few linter warnings which were already present on the target branch. This patch should address them and hopefully make CI pass.
